Proposals have been produced and planning consent granted for a new bespoke dwelling in Bedfordshire. The proposed contemporary dwelling has been designed and developed under the guidelines of Paragraph 84(e) of the National Planning Policy Framework which allows for new one-off dwellings in the open countryside so long as they meet the criteria. The Proposed dwelling was deemed as ‘Outstanding’ by an independent design review panel and therefore met the criteria of the Paragraph 80 policy.
The proposed is a family dwelling has a striking design which relates to key viewpoints in the local area and is predominantly clad in ‘Osier’ thatch; a local material that was historically grown on the site and used in traditional thatch in the area.
